The Milkhouse Demolition Project focused on the safe removal of a structurally compromised multi-building complex at 101 Cascade Street North in Osceola, Wisconsin. The scope included demolition of three interconnected buildings (101, 103, and 105), utility disconnections, hazardous material abatement, and full site restoration.

The project demanded extreme caution due to the deteriorated condition of the structures—especially Building 101, whose foundation had shifted significantly. Complicating matters further, the site featured a steep drop-off along the south side, requiring precise excavation and grading to prevent erosion and protect neighboring buildings. Heavy equipment operated in tight quarters near unstable edges, making coordination and safety a top priority.

Because of the unsafe conditions, the full extent of foundation damage was unknown until demolition began. Once the surface structures were removed, it became clear that the original foundation was severely compromised and had to be fully removed.

To stabilize the hillside post-demolition, fabric and rip rap were carefully placed. The steep grade made this process especially challenging, requiring extra care to ensure proper placement and long-term erosion control.

All work was completed in strict compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations, including stormwater management and erosion control measures.

Once all demolition and stabilization work was completed, our concrete crew came in to repour the sidewalk areas that had been removed when the existing utilities were disconnected and capped.
