Bridge Avenue – Revitalizing a Key Corridor in Star Prairie

The Bridge Avenue Reconstruction Project was more than just a road upgrade—it was a meaningful investment in the future of Star Prairie. Spanning approximately 580 feet from Main Street (State Highway 65) to the east end of Bridge Avenue, this project brought major improvements to safety, accessibility, and infrastructure in one of the village’s most active areas.

Our team at J & S General Contracting was proud to support this effort, which included new asphalt paving, curb and gutter installation, ADA-compliant sidewalks, and upgraded storm and sanitary sewer systems. We also coordinated closely with utility providers to relocate fiber, gas, and electrical lines with minimal disruption.

Despite a tight 40-day construction window and weather-related challenges, the project was completed on time just in time for the community’s annual Ox Cart Days celebration.

Community Impact That Lasts

Bridge Avenue is home to several local businesses and the Village Community Center, making these upgrades especially meaningful.

The improvements have:

  • Made walking and biking safer for residents of all ages

  • Improved access to local shops and services

  • Enhanced stormwater management to protect nearby areas

  • Boosted the overall look and feel of the neighborhood with new landscaping and tree plantings

This project reflects Star Prairie’s commitment to creating a safer, more connected, and more welcoming community now and for years to come.
